Pawesome Friday greeting wunder furriends

Welcome to another Pet Parade.  This week the fab kitties at:

asked if we'd like to share their cat/hooman years graphic, so of course we said yes, then we saw that Amber and I are in the geriatric section!!! MOL  Ah well, mew can't stop time and at least we're still doing rather well fur old aged cats!

In other news this week, we've raised £150.00 from the Time Travelling Bobble Hat Tour and various donations to give to our fav rescue, Burton Joyce Cat Rescue, so this weekend we'll be sending the monies to them.  Thank mew furry much to all who joined in the fun and to all those who sent donations, we luffs mew loads and wurds cannot fully express our gratitude.   FYI we're taking a break from the TTBH Tour fur the summer and will resume later in the year fur another round of fun.

What have we been doing this week, we hear mew ask?

Well, Smoochie got rather clingy and needed lot's of hugs.  Fudge thinks he's completely invisible and totally undetectable when he's hiding out under the blanky, except that his tail is so huge that it sticks out and he has no clue at all! MOL  Pandora spent an hour sitting by the patio doors the other evening undecided whether she should stay or whether she should go outside!  And finally when the P.A. was watering the garden the other evening she spied this rather colourful cat-e-pillar, so that's what's been munching on our plants! MOL  Don't wurry, the P.A. left it to do its thing, as it'll either turn in a beautiful flutterfly, or not so purretty moth, or wurse still get eaten by burds...  that's nature though.

Do mew know what kind of cat-e-pillar it is?  As we have no clue at all!

And if mew missed anything during the last week, here's the latest links fur your purrusal!

We'll be back our usual Selfie Selection on Sunday, so hope mew can join us then.

In the meantime we wish mew all an epically epic weekend!

Happy Hopping

Wordy on Wednesday with Biblio-Kitty Amber #44 featuring Real Hamsters Don't Bite: Mighty and Brennon Run Away to Find Cat Land and Unzip the Truth

Welcome To

With Amber ~ The Self-Appointed Biblio-Kitty

Supurr salutations fellow biblio-cats

*waves paw*

Guys I have good news and bad news.  The Bad news is, there's only one more Wordy on Wednesday to go as I'm off on my summer hiatus, but the good news is The Last Big Jolly, our latest summer blockbuster will begin on the 4th of July, how exciting is that?

Sorry I'm stepping down fur a few weeks, but as Basil said on Monday's post, Fudge + a rocket launcher = extreme prejudice in the firing range, thus we have a little maker-offur to do!  I want to paint the firing range in shades of orange, but I'm meeting much opposition at the moment, really I can't see what the issue is, orange is a totally fabulous colour and they should be honoured that I want to share all my orangeness with them! PFFFTTT!!!

Mew can seen how fabulous orange is below...
Ok enough tummy tickling! MOL

This week I'm sharing a fab newly released children's book and I was I lucky enough to be given a free* advanced reader's copy, how exciting is that?  TRES TRES EXCITING!
[*I received a free e-book in exchange for a fair review].

Now I know that some of mew have already seen it as I'm running a little behind schedule at the moment, but don't let that stop mew from enjoying today post.

And on that note I think it's time fur this weeks book, so let get to it...

This week on book reviews with Amber, I'm sharing

Real Hamsters Don't Bite

Mighty and Brennon Run Away to Find Cat Land and Unzip the Truth

by

Alexis Cleoford

Here's the book blurb courtesy of Amazon UK:

All is not what it seems…

Mighty is stuck in an elegant waiting room which he calls a dungeon even though he gets plenty of fresh water and food. When Mighty’s parents pick him and his brother up, Mighty decides that he will find a place where cats are treated like kings.

One day clumps of yellow goo start falling from the sky, and cats are attacked by small rodents. No one knows why the rodents are attacking cats.

The two feline brothers see their dream destination on TV and want to have fun there. The attacks and mysterious yellow goop falling from the sky give the two feline brothers another incentive to flee to their dream land.

On the way to Cat Land, Mighty and Brennon meet a cat who acts like a human. They fight a naughty cat, and also encounter black and white grazing animals which look like aliens to Mighty. They rescue a group of cats from an attack as well.

Mighty finally captures a perpetrator and discovers that his secret is only fur deep. Mighty uses this secret to trick others into thinking that he and Brennon are dogs, for a good cause.

Despites all the obstacles Mighty and Brennon overcome, nothing could have prepared them for what they experience in their dream land.

The brothers’ parents get a phone call to pick their cats up, and the two felines receive the worst punishment that a cat can get for running away: a bath.

Not all is dreary as Mighty and Brennon help put a stop to the attacks. They also have a shot at getting to another dream destination.

My thoughts on Real hamsters Don't Bite... This is a really fun book suitable fur older and younger readers.  Mighty and Brennan are two rather cool kitties who seek adventure, but sadly their dream is short lived due to mis-advertising! MOL  [Yep, neffur believe those TV adverts! MOL]

Not only is it a cute story, it also weaves cat care, tips and advice within the adventure which I really liked, fur example; foods that are toxic to cats - obviously mew know I don't do spoilers so if mew need to know what they are read the book!

So if mew have children, grandchildren or are still a big kid, try it.

Fur ages: 7 - 15  or  Grade level: 4 - 9
  • Kindle Edition: 52 pages

Colouring with Cats #33 ~ Getting Your OM on with Mandalas on Mondays & We've got a kitten!

Supurr Monday greetings beautiful furriends

Well would mew believe it, but we've got a kitten!  Not literally we've adopted a kitten, but a 5-ish week old kitten arrived at the P.A.'s cousins, next door on Thursday.  The cousin has been feeding a couple of ferals fur a while now and the little black one has had kittens.  Well there's only one that we've seen thus far, and we're waiting to see if anymore turn up offur the coming days.  So the good news is the little uber cute furbaby seems healthy and is starting to eat solids, which of course is a high protein kitten food, and we'll keep mew updated on any new kitten news in 'Kitten Watch' offur the coming weeks.

*Update* another three kittens have just arrived offur-night, I repeat another three kittens have just arrived!  Wait there, I must rush next door and take a picture....

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

OMC how cute is this little one?  We're just melting from a cuteness offurload right now!!! MOL

We could only capture one of the furbabies, but we did get a picture of mummy...

And don't wurry we'll taking extra good care of them and be making sure they all get TNR'd when old enough, including mummy.  As we don't want a feral colony explosion in the field, as that would mean far fewer bunnies fur me! MOL

How exciting, so furry exciting, and aftur all that excitement I think we need to calm down with our breathing exercise, which we're sure mew all have down paw by now...  but if mew've furgotten, stop what mew're doing fur a moment and take deep fulfilling breaths; counting to five on the inhale and five on the exhale:

Breathe in
Breathe out

Breathe in
Breathe out

Breathe in
Breathe out

and let's go again... because we need it!

Breathe in
Breathe out

Breathe in
Breathe out

Breathe in

Breathe out

Don't mew feel better already?

Smoochie was so furry excited to learn that there were feral kittens next next-door, as he was once just like them way, way back in 2011.  So anyhoo I had to come out of my own luffley deep OM-Zone and purrform an emergency OM-Transference on him to try and calm him down.

Afturwards he said, "Oh thanks so much Basil, I was peaking out there fur a moment!"

I nodded and replied. "Mew're furry welcome Smooch!"

"Do mew think they'd want to join The 'B' Team?" he asked getting all excited again.

I placed my paw on his head and answered with only one wurd. "SLEEP!"

Mandala #1  Mandala #2  Mandala #3  Mandala #4  Mandala #5  Mandala #6

All the mandala's featured are designed and made by us, unless otherwise stated.

Next week will be our last Mandala post fur a while as it's summer, mew guys have things to do and we have a little remodeling to take care of in the bunker, mew know how it is; Fudge + a rocket launcher = extreme prejudice against the firing range! MOL

But neffur fear, we're not leaving mew empty pawed.... because we've just finished Colouring With Cats Book 2 ~ Easy Mandalas, and this week we're giving mew a little sneak peak of one of the fab designs which mew can get today and again next week when the new book is available fur a FREE download.  Yes, of course it's FREE, and as they're easy mandalas they take no time at all to colour in! WOO HOO!!!

So without further adieu here's this weeks mandala.

Just right click the image to save and print it...

The P.A. decided to do this one with a completely pink palette, ooohhhhh purretty! MOL

Coloured using mat & glitter gel pens.
